A Florida church usher was arrested after police said he was caught on camera stealing money from a collection plate.
At Blessed Trinity Church, police said they were notified by church leaders that they were concerned about the money collected during church services. Police set up cameras and two deputies attended a mass to see if they noticed anything going.
Police said 60-year-old Mario Condis was seen on one of the cameras stuffing money from the plates into his pockets as the congregation prayed and did not notice.
Parishioners said they were shocked and saddened by the news.
Condis told police that he was on his way to the altar with the $350 they found in his pockets. He was charged with three counts of petty theft.
