A woman decided to destroy her wedding dress when her former fiancé called off their wedding after a two-year engagement.

“I got a text message saying he didn’t want to marry me. I just kinda went numb and my maid of honor, my mom, and all my friends just helped me call people, and let them know the wedding was over. I was just so devastated,” said former bride-to-be Kilee Manulak.

After a few days of letting the news sink in, Manulak decided to do something drastic.

She originally planned to keep her dress, and maybe alter it. Instead, she and her bridesmaids destroyed their dresses during the Color Fun Fest in Tampa.

“It was actually very liberating. I don’t want a pity party. I just want to have fun with it,” said Manulak.

The support she’s getting from friends and family is keeping her happy for now, and there is no bad air towards her former fiancé.

“I definitely want to tell him thank you for sparing me any heartaches down the road, and thank you for letting me go so I can find true happiness, you know.”

Manulak does not regret what she did to her dress, and wants other to see her story and gain strength of their own.
