BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) — Police say four people have been arrested on charges of forcing two women into a car at gunpoint in Brattleboro.

Police said the incident happened Thursday just before 1 p.m.

Police stopped the vehicle and arrested three of the suspects– 38-year-old Jacobina Carter of Brattleboro; 19-year-old Marcus Koritz of Springfield, Mass.; and 29-years-old James Manning of Jersey City, N.J. — on kidnapping charges.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports police said a fourth suspect, 30-year-old Salahdin Trowell of Jersey City, N.J., went to an apartment, where he was holed up in the building with a baby. Police were able to rescue the 2-year-old child and then arrest Trowell, who was found hiding under a bed, several hours later.
