France adopted a law this week banning excessively thin models.
France now joins Italy, Spain and Israel in adopting laws against too-thin models on catwalks or in advertising campaigns.
Models must have a body mass index of at least 18 before being hired.
The law will enforce regular weight checks and fines of up to $79,000 dollars for violations, with up to six months in jail for staff involved.
