FREETOWN, MASS. (WHDH) - A Freetown Firefighter has been fired after a post he made online went public.
The comments were in relation to a party that happened at a house owned by a black family in Assonet.
Neighbors called police to complain as more than 1,000 guests attended the party earlier this month.
Police said the family hosting the party had called for police detail and had their own security guards there.
It took police about three hours to break it up.
The firefighter allegedly responded to the party in a post saying, “I can see the next fire call will be this house on fire and I’ll make sure I can’t find the hydrant lol… just make sure no water so no more house party’s with black Boston people.”
The fire chief told 7News that the firefighter has since apologized, but violated the department’s Facebook policy.
The firefighter is off the job after being a volunteer for five years.
