BOSTON (WHDH) - All southbound lanes of the O’Neill tunnel have reopened after a garbage truck fire closed all southbound lanes Thursday afternoon.
According to the Mass. Department of Transportation, the fire occurred at Purchase Street, Exit 23.
Traffic was diverted to Exit 26, Storrow Drive.
Traffic was backed up past Assembly Row in Somerville.
The truck has since been removed.
