Giving Rise to Summer

Mid 70s for some today as summer steals a couple of days away from October. In fact, we could even peak in the upper 70s tomorrow with another batch of warm air swinging through.

But that’s not the screaming message of the day. The possibility of storms is.

Right now, severe weather is sweeping through the Ohio Valley. Damaging winds, hail and a few isolated tornadoes have people on high alert. As this same system is heading into New England tomorrow morning. I’m not thinking tornadoes, but I am thinking there is a threat for some pockets of damaging wind in any of these storms. A strong jetstream at about 5,000 feet will maintain and propel these storms across the area from 5-9am tomorrow.

Immediately after the last drops fall, the sun will return and a gusty breeze will send us back in the warmth.

Just for a day. Cooler weather is sent in on a west wind Thursday and we gradually settle back to normal (near 65) or a little below into the weekend. Those showers I was watching for Friday now have shifted to Saturday afternoon. Do we hear a shift to Sunday…or better yet, Monday? Sorry, doesn’t work that way, but the way I see it, we won’t be cracking 60 to start the weekend.
