Several ducklings were rescued from the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack Friday, according to New Hampshire state police.
Polcie received multiple calls around 12:00 p.m. reporting ducklings in the area of Exit 10 on the Everett Turnpike.
When troopers arrived, they discovered a Good Samaritan had rescued four of approximately 10 ducklings that were attempting to cross the highway.
Don Wylks of Manchester, NH was passing by and was able to corral the ducklings. A trooper transported the surviving ducklings to Wings of the Dawn Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Henniker.
State police said they encourage drivers not to stop on highways for animals, and instead call police.
