Gov. Baker’s staff releases office mouse on Statehouse lawn

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is instituting his own wildlife release program when it comes to Statehouse mice.

Tim Buckley, a senior adviser to the Republican governor, tweeted out pictures on Tuesday of a fellow staffer from Baker’s office walking onto an elevator holding a covered blue recycling bin presumably containing the live mouse.

A second photo shows the aide releasing the critter on the Statehouse lawn.

Buckley tweeted out: “Mouse spotted behind @MassGovernor’s desk. Mouse captured. Mouse released.”

Mice are often seen scurrying around hallways and offices in the 218-year-old building — including the press gallery on the fourth floor.
