Nice Sunday on tap. Winds from yesterday are gone, but the chilly air remains. Tons of sun with highs in the 20s. Good day for all winter sports.

Storm? Oh, yeah. Guess you want details on that, right?

Hard to avoid the conversation. Everyone’s talking about “another foot of the white stuff”, or as some would say, “a white hell”. (Lol. Has it gotten that bad?)

Here’s what you need to know:

* Snow starts 2-4 am tonight (or Monday morning)
* Expect heavy snow through the morning ride. Snowfall rates may approach 1-2″ per hour!
* Snow will mix with and change to sleet/rain from Brockton/Bridgewater/Duxbury on out to Cape Cod by mid/late AM
* Snow will taper 3-4 pm, but not end until 7-9pm (Ish. Sometimes these storms want to keep the snow going and going and going..)

Wind along the coast will be stiff, but not hurricane force like the blizzard. Blowing and drifting will be issues during the height of the storm.

Cold readings north of the Pike mean a significant “fluff factor”. It also means that where the snow is fluffy and full of air, it will compress on Tuesday to the half its size! Amazing what happens when you deflate the snow accumulations. (OK, poor choice of words there.)

Finally, this seems to be the last storm in the pipeline for a while. There are some hints and allegations later down the road before Valentine’s Day, but nothing firm. Cold will remain however, with some bitter mornings in store.

As the signs say on the Interstates, it’s time for the Pats to “Finish the Job”.

GOOOOO Pats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pete
