A gun-maker has asked a Connecticut judge to throw out the lawsuit filed by relatives of some of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

Remington Arms makes the semi-automatic rifle that was used in the 2012 school shooting.

An attorney for Remington Arms says the suit is prohibited by a federal law that protects gun manufacturers from liability.

Adam Lanza used an assault rifle when he opened up fire inside Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012.

He killed 20 students and six staff members before taking his own life.
