HUDSON, N.H. (AP) — Police have taken a man into custody after he was seen with a gun at an apartment complex, forcing a lockdown at a nearby elementary school.

The Nashua Telegraph reports that officers responded to the Burns Hill Apartments around 2 p.m. Friday after getting reports of a man with a gun.

They surrounded the building and locked down Nottingham West Elementary School.

Police took the man into custody around 2:15 p.m. His name has not been released.

Hudson Police Capt. Bill Avery confirmed the man had a weapon but it was not immediately known whether it was loaded.
