We have new information about a controversial Charlestown marina that was the focus of a Hank Investigation.
On Thursday, a judge took steps to try to force the marina owner to improve conditions at that waterside property.
Last month, Hank showed you what the Shipyard Quarters Marina looked like: Rotted wood, sinking docks and rusted pilings. City officials called it “a hazard” and the state ordered it cleaned up.
But that didn’t happen.
Then last week the Massachusetts attorney general sued the marina’s owner, Martin Oliner. He’s the mayor of a small town in Long Island.
Now today a judge ordered Oliner to hire an engineer to inspect the marina. The judge also said the marina owner can’t rent new boat slips until they are fixed and he has to ensure docks currently being used are safe. We reached out to Oliner for comment. Je has not returned our calls.
