The National Sleep Foundation has released new guidelines for all age groups.

Newborns should get 14 to 17 hours of sleep daily. For children, the guidelines are nine to 11 hours. As for teenagers, it is suggested they try to get eight to 10 hours.

For adults over the age of 26, the National Sleep Foundation said they should aim for seven to nine hours of sleep. Senior citizens should get seven or eight hours.
