A new study suggests devices like smartphones and tablets could affect children’s sleeping patterns negatively.
Researchers asked more than 2,000 fourth and seventh graders about both their sleeping habits and their usage of small screen devices. Those who slept with a smartphone or tablet in their bedroom slept 20 minutes less than those who slept away from their devices.
Children who slept with smartphones and tablets in their rooms were also more likely to complain of interrupted sleep.
