ASHLAND, MASS. (WHDH) - A pilot is safe after State Police said his ultralight helicopter crashed into the Ashland Reservoir Wednesday.
Pilot David Diana, of Hopkinton, told 7News he lost an engine on the aircraft, causing it to crash. He said the water was the safest spot he could find to land the helicopter.
“Generally, if there was a field, I would have been fine,” said Diana.
Diana made it to shore with no injury. Divers located the helicopter in deep water and a tow truck was used to remove it.
