Strong winds caused widespread damage across Massachusetts overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
Strong winds caused trees to crash to the ground, causing a lot of damage and power outages.
In Dorchester, one tree smashed into a family’s home and several cars on the street.
The fall caused damage, but no injuries were reported from the incident.
The residents in the home worked Thursday morning to remove the tree.
Ronald Henry said it scared him right out of his skin.
The tree towered 50 feet into the air and is now a mess of limbs and debris.
"Very lucky," Henry said. "God just take away the tree, and dropped it in the middle. Nobody got hurt."
Another tree crushed a car on Calendar Street in Cambridge, around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.
In Natick, downed power lines shut down part of Route 9.
On the South Shore, many residents experienced power outages from the store.
At one point on Wednesday, the entire town of Marshfield was without power. Power crews worked through the storm and were able to restore power to about 65 percent of residents, leaving about 8,000 people still without power.
About 2,000 Duxbury residents were left without power due to the storm.
