Parts of Yellowstone National Park are closed after a deadly grizzly attack.
Bear traps have now been set up after Park Rangers said a hiker was mauled to death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday as clues left behind may explain what provoked the deadly encounter.
Rangers said a Montana man who worked at Urgent Care Clinics in the park was found mauled along the popular Elephant Back Loop trail.
The park superintendent said a bear had been captured.
The superintendent said the victim had defensive wounds and was likely attacked by a large female with signs of a cub nearby.
Animal experts said that could help explain such a violent reaction.
Yellowstone is known as bear country, and with millions of visitors, there is usually about one attack per year.
Park Rangers said there have only been eight confirmed deadly bear attacks in the last 99 years.
Experts said the best thing to do is make noise while walking and always carry peppery spray.
Rangers also said to keep your distance from bear and avoid anything that might startle a bear in the wild.
