Moderating the debate, I wasn’t sure who won.

And virtually everyone who watched saw it on TV, so when the debate was over I watched it on TV too.

I’d say the winner was Martha Coakley, who came into the debate in first place, and left the same way.

Coakley took the best hits her opponents could come up with, and never faltered.

Steve Grossman tried to make up ground, accusing Coakley of having a “fake plan” for economic development, while Donald Berwick went after
healthcare costs, but neither sounded like a game-changer.

And no review of this debate would be complete without noting, again, that Coakley was the only one of the three who knew the name of the patriots new back-up quarterback.

Now her opponents have less than a week to throw a Hail-Mary pass and pull off an upset.
