WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — The College of the Holy Cross wants to enhance the performing arts experience on campus with the construction of a $92 million center for the arts and creativity.

The Worcester school filed its plans with the city this week.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that the two-level, 85,500-square-foot building is proposed for an area on campus that is currently a parking lot.

The facility will become the college’s main venue for performing arts programs and will include a 400-seat concert hall for symphonic music, chamber music, jazz, opera and dance.

Plans also include dressing and rehearsal rooms and other amenities.

The school’s Cantor Art Gallery will be relocated to the new building.

The site plan application is scheduled to go before the city Planning Board on Oct. 24.
