DUNSTABLE, MASS. (WHDH) - A large number of fire officials responded to a house fire in Dunstable Monday morning.
The fire broke out around 9:45 a.m. on Pleasant Street, across the street from a local fire station.
“The duty crew noticed the fire across the street from the fire station, we responded right away, struck two alarms right off the bat due to the heavy volume of fire that was showing on arrival. We went to three and four alarms,” said Dunstable Fire Deputy Chief Patrick Kerrigan.
Those inside the home at the time were able to get out safely, officials said.
Firefighters said the blaze began inside a barn on the property and quickly spread to the home. Flames and black smoke could be seen shooting into the sky.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
