IKEA has announced a recall of children’s costumes that could pose a potential strangulation risk.
The company says that Children’s LATTJO Bat Cape costumes have a fabric hook and loop fastener, located at the neck of the cape, that can occasionally fail to detach.
The defect can cause a potential strangulation hazard to children.
A total of 11,000 capes, 30 inches long by 57 inches wide, are being recalled in the U.S. Another 750 have been recalled in Canada.
The capes were sold in IKEA stores and online from November 2015 through February of 2016.
IKEA has received three reports of injuries from these capes.
Customers who have purchased this item should take it away from children and return it to the store for a full refund.
