SALEM, N.H. (WHDH) - The baby Jesus statue from the town’s nativity scene in Salem, New Hampshire has gone missing for the second year in a row.

Police said someone driving by the manger in the town square noticed the baby Jesus was missing and reported it.

“I don’t think this is a good representation of what the town of Salem is all about,” said Dave Wholley, Salem’s Deputy Director of Public Works. Wholley said although the Jesus statue is missing, nothing in the manger was vandalized.

This is the second year in a row the Jesus statue went missing. Last year, it was found by a town road crew along the side of a road. Town officials said if Jesus is not located soon, they hope a replacement will be donated.
