Last night I blogged about not having some snow in this cold pattern…OK….tonight’s burst of snow is good. I’m good. It’s just enough to say, it’s winter—keep the plow folk busy and maybe even for some of youz guyz…do some XC skiing in the coming days. This snow isn’t from a powerhouse storm but rather an arctic front that will live up to its name tomorrow…delivering cold, arctic air into New England…and on a fiesty west wind.
The storm–err–arctic front won’t swing through these parts until after midnight but our evening snow is just about over (will be over if you read this after 9pm). At that time, it will be time to broom, scrape, shovel the snow from this evening (coating-2" will be what most have) or tend to it before the hump day commute.
Wednesday, despite being fairly sunny, is a windy & cold day with temps huddled near 30 but wind chills in the teens all day. #Winter. Thursday we hold onto sunny skies & cold temps (lose the wind tho) and by Friday see thermometers climb up near 40 by afternoon.
Our next storm is slated for Saturday and like the Chiefs defense–this storm is giving me the heebee-jeebees. Still a bit early for details but it appears leftover warmth from Friday welcomes the storm for most of us. That means Saturday morning is rainy but as the day wears on, the storm will begin puling colder air in from northern New England. This should change the rain to snow before the storm departs late Saturday afternoon. Still looks mostly rain Boston-south to Gillette on Saturday but along & north of Rt.2 there could be several hours of wet snow midday Saturday and into late Saturday afternoon. Storm looks like its gone by 5-6pm Saturday so keep those dinner plans intact! Ski country should be just fine with this storm for the Holiday Weekend as well.
More on this the next few days.
