A juvenile joyride was caught on camera in Michigan.
Police said a 13-year-old boy led them on a wild car chase.
He was eventually arrested.
Police said things could have ended badly for the young teen and his 8-year-old sister, who was with him.
The driver of the Nissan Altima took off before a deputy exited his vehicle.
“As you can see, he is driving on the shoulder of the roadway, passing cars and again traveling on the highway at a speed,” Sheiff Anthony Wickersham of Macomb County, said. “Again, very inexperienced driver shouldn’t even be out there.”
The sheriff said a deputy was surprised at who jumped out of the car.
“When he stepped out of the car, he saw what was a 13-year-old and 8-year-old running from him,” Wickersham said.
The young teen’s sister was quickly apprehended by the deputy.
Another local police officer caught the teen driver nearby.
“They were staying at their father’s house and the father and his girlfriend were sleeping and it was actually the girlfriend’s car that they took for the joyride,” Wickesham said.
