A fiery rescue in Kansas was caught on camera after a police chief rushed to a scene after reports of a potential suicide.

A man doused his car in gasoline and set it on fire.

When Chief Cory Murrison got to the fire, he saw the man unconscious on the ground and sprang into action.

At the same time, ammunition inside the car was exploding.

“When you show up none of that stuff is really going through your mind,” Murrison said. “You just see what’s going on and you react to what you need to do at that time."

The man is being treated for smoke inhalation and depression.
