HANOVER, MASS. (WHDH) - The owner of a Hanover Dog Kennel was in court Thursday after a dog was killed by another dog.

The owner of Briarwood Kennel, David Ricardo, was arraigned on animal cruelty charges.

Ben the golden doodle died back in July.

Investigators say he was bitten more than 400 times and died after surgery.

The kennel was shut down after the incident.
