Getting pulled over by the police usually causes a lot of anxiety for drivers.
In one state, drivers are instead getting a surprise from officers.
This week, police in Kentucky doled out some holiday help.
The Warren County sheriff’s office received a generous donation of $10,000.
The donor’s only request was to give the money to those who need it most.
Officers pulled over drivers and gave them $100.
Some people who were pulled over had been going through tough times and said the gift was a big help.
With Christmas right around the corner, people may be afraid of the thought of receiving a traffic ticket, and having to give up some of their Christmas savings, but a traffic stop like this can turn all those feelings around.
A kind act like this does not just make the drivers happy, but the officers as well.
“I can speak for all the staff at Warren County Sheriff’s Office, it is a privilege for us to be able to do this,” Sergeant Curtis Hargett said. “It’s a blessing for us just as much as it is for the people receiving this. We are very pleased to be a part of this.”
