LOUISVILLE, KY. (WHDH) - A Kentucky judge stopped a proceeding to call a detention center after an inmate was brought into her courtroom without any pants on.

Judge Amber Wolf was furious to learn that the defendant had been denied pants and feminine hygiene products while at jail. She was in court for not completing a diversion program on a shoplifting charge from 2014.

“This is outrageous,” said Wolf, as the public defender told her what the defendant had been denied. “Is this for real? Am I in the twilight zone?”

Wolf called the Metro Corrections Director directly from the bench to find out why the defendant was denied her request after being in jail for three days. The jail is dealing with overcrowding but Assistant Corrections Director Steve Durham said she was wearing the same clothes she had on when she was taken into custody, which is standard procedure. Durham added that she had not been in custody long enough to be issued a jail jumpsuit.

The woman was released from jail and given a $100 fine.
