#Land Of Confusion…..an old Genesis tune….and I recall a goofy video featuring puppets of some sort. It has been our weather patterns of late and the theme continues with, perhaps, our first September heat wave in over 30 years! Yesterday, Boston set a new record high of 96 eclipsing the old record of 95 and perhaps another record will fall today. That record is 91 and it will be close. Record or no record, plan on a hot & humid day across much of southern New England.
Tomorrow will see an end to the 90 degree heat (likely for the year) as we will have clouds and a scattering of showers. The reason for the clouds/showers is a cool front that will crawl through the New England and right the seasonal ship around these parts. We actually need the rain and I think most towns will pick up close to an inch of rain by Friday morning–the end of the rain. Some towns–if under 3 or 4 downpours may end up with closer to 2" of rain. As of now it looks like the brunt of the rain falls tomorrow evening into early Friday morning but there will be a few showers around on either side of that window. Unfortunately for Pats fans heading down to Gillette some showers are likely but they will be scattered in nature so you may get through much of the game with very little rain. Plan for rain & then make any audibles you need to stay dry as the evening progresses.
In any event, Friday starts with a few showers but we dry out by afternoon–might even see some sunshine. Temps & humidity will act as they should for September. As of now, weekend looks 50/50 with Saturday your day to pick apples & Sunday your day to watch some more football as we see a few isolated showers.
