SOMERVILLE, MASS. (WHDH) - A three-alarm fire broke out in Somerville Friday morning.

Sky7 was above as flames burned through a multi-family structure on Raymond Avenue, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the air overhead.

One person was rescued from the third floor of the building, according to the Somerville Fire Department. A person was injured and taken to the hospital.

Some firefighters were seen working on top of the structure. Officials said they had to act quickly after the flames spread to a neighboring building.

“We just have close buildings in Somerville and when one gets going, it’s threatening several at once, so we had to deal with multiple situations when we got here. The guys did a good job of stopping the fire from getting into that house next door,” said Somerville Fire Chief Charles Breen.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
