QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - Emergency responders swarmed an area near the Wollaston MBTA stop Wednesday after police say a gun went off when someone was pistol whipped during a fight in Quincy.

Officers responding to the scene at 291 Newport Ave. say the bullet did not hit anyone, but one person was transported to Boston Medical Center with a cut on their head following the alleged attack.

Around 9:45 p.m. officers were seen handcuffing a man and placing him in the back of a cruiser. It is not yet clear if that man is related to this investigation.

The scene began to clear around 10 p.m.

No further details have been released.
