April showers show up for the first day of May?  What gives?!  Wrapping up the month of April, Boston was 0.83" shy of average precipitation for the month.  Worcester ended up almost 1.5" below normal for April!  While almost half of the days in April featured some sort of precip, a couple of those days gave us SNOW (which usually doesn’t have a lot of water content to it) and the other days were not the "good soaking" we needed.  Bottom line is, we have some catching up to do – and I know your lawn appreciates it!

The rain today was not much to write home about, and much less than I was expecting.  However, I will say I’m okay with the days when the weather exceeds my expectations!  Either way, for most it was less than 0.05" today.  The light, scattered showers stay with us into the overnight hours – though, I do think that the Red Sox will "play ball!"  Temps bottom out in the low to mid 40s, and areas of fog will form by morning.

Tomorrow is sort of a "rinse and repeat," quite literally.  Clouds are sticking around, temps will top out in the mid to upper 50s, and we’re in for more afternoon rain.  Then Tuesday is another "rinse and repeat."  In fact, we have a chance for showers every day through this week.  WHAT IS GOING ON?  Well, Rob Eicher explained it best in his weather blog this morning (http://www.whdh.com/story/31859055/it-doesnt-look-good-but), but in short – our pattern is just all "blocked up."  With that said though, we did think the same thing a couple of weeks ago and then the pattern shifted in our favor.  That could happen again, but for now we must plan on being ready for this dreary, grey weather to continue through the week.

I’m think I’ll go make my self a "cuppa" (cup o’ tea), because this is starting to feel like old England in New England.  Hang in there!  The May flowers need a drink!  – Breezy
