Lawyers for Boston Children’s Hospital appeared in court on Tuesday for a hearing on a case to stop construction at the hospital.

A group of 12 participants filed a lawsuit against the hospital, trying to stop it from moving forward with a $1 billion expansion project that would include
demolishing the popular Prouty Garden.

The hospital said it will make up for the loss of the garden.

Doctors, patients, donors, and parents make up the group that is filing the lawsuit.

They said the garden is a vital part of the hospital.
