BOSTON (WHDH) - The former head of the Boston-based section of the Latin Kings pleaded guilty to racketeering and drug conspiracy charges Tuesday.

Wilson Peguero, who also went by “King Dubb,” pleaded guilty to conspiracy to conduct enterprise affairs through a pattern of racketeering activity, more commonly referred to as RICO conspiracy, and conspiracy to distribute cocaine and cocaine base, according to a release issued by U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling.

Peguero was arrested and charged in December 2019, at which time he was the leader of Massachusetts fo the Devon Street Kings, or D5K Chapter of the Latin Kings and about a dozen members reported to him.

In turn, he is said to have reported to the Massachusetts State Leadership of the Latin Kings, providing information, structure, funds and other resources to further the Latin Kings goals and directives in the state, according to Lelling.

Court documents state Peguero produced various music videos touting his allegiance to the Latin Kings, distribution of controlled substances, and threats against rival gang members.

In December 2019, a federal grand jury issued an indictment alleging racketeering conspiracy, drug conspiracy and firearms charges against 62 leaders, members and associates of the Latin Kings. Rodriguez is the first defendant to plead guilty in the case.

During the investigation, Peguero was allegedly recorded in various meetings discussing racketeering and attended some where members were beaten.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 20, 2020.

The Latin Kings are a violent gang comprised of thousands of members across the United States.
