LEICESTER, MASS. (WHDH) - A man was injured after police said he crashed his SUV trying to avoid hitting a deer in Leicester.
According to police, the driver struck a tree on Baldwin Street at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when a deer darted into the middle of the road. His SUV then caught fire. Police said the man quickly got out of the car and avoided getting caught in the flames.
The driver was taken to the hospital with at least one broken bone. He is expected to be OK.
