A kindergartner in New Jersey made a wild discovery when she found a lizard in her salad and her class at school has now adopted it as a pet.

Teacher Mark Eastburn said his student, Faye, found the lizard in her salad at home. The lizard, an anole lizard named "Green Fruit Loop," is harmless and changes colors based on its environment.

Faye brought the lizard to school to show her class and the students were so fascinated that they adopted it as their class pet.

"There wasn’t any fear, any worry. There was just fascination that there’s this little green creature that came out of someone’s organic greens," said Eastburn.

Eastburn said the students love their new class pet and he uses it as part of his science class.
