ROSLINDALE, Mass. (WHDH) — Both suspects are in custody after shots were fired in Roslindale Tuesday evening.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said undercover Boston Police and State Police were conducting a joint investigation at a house on Newburg Street at around 5 p.m. When they encountered the suspects, Evans said shots were fired, with the suspects opening fire first.

According to Boston Police, one person is in custody. Police are searching for a second person. Evans said there is no danger to the public at this time.

Evans said one BPD officer suffered a minor injury and is expected to be OK. It is unknown if one or both of the suspects opened fire.

Part of the Needham Heights Commuter Rail Line was shut down as police continue to search for the second person. Trains on that line have since started moving again.

Police said they were looking for 25-year-old Eric Rosado-Gonzalez in connection with the shooting. Residents said officers with guns drawn searched their backyards and one woman saw an officer look through her backyard shed. Evans apologized to the residents in West Roxbury and Roslindale for all the commotion.

Rosado-Gonzalez was taken into custody Tuesday night.
