BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Children’s Hospital on Thursday received approval to move forward with an expansion project.

The expansion plan includes a state-of-the-art NICU and an expanded Heart Center.

The project came under fire from advocates who wished to preserve the pre-existing Prouty Garden.

The new plan will include four gardens, including relocation of plants and natural materials from the Prouty Garden to other areas on the campus.
