On Saturday around 9 a.m., emergency crews responded to the Sandwich Motor Lodge for a report of a child who had been burned.
When crews arrived, they found an 8-year-old boy with second degree burns on his groin from a hot beverage.
The boy was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital via medical helicopter.
The burns covered an estimated 10 percent of his body.
