DARTMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) - A Fall River man was arrested after police said he assaulted and carjacked a woman in Dartmouth on Wednesday.

Holly Medeiros said had gone to pick up her son from work at Best Buy and was waiting in the parking lot with her car’s window rolled down. The suspect, Jeffrey Link, allegedly approached her and got her attention. When he did, police said he forced his way into the car through the open window.

“He pushed me over to the passenger side, told me get out, he’s gonna kill me,” said Medeiros. When Medeiros fought back, she said Link hit her in the face with a beer bottle.

“I was just mad at him and I wanted him out of the car,” said Medeiros. She eventually stumbled out of the car and said Link drove off. Police said they were able to track Link down quickly because Meideiros left her iPhone in the car. The “Find my iPhone” app led police to the suspect.

Link was charged with armed carjacking, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, threats to commit a crime and assault to maim.

Medeiris was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where she got four stitches and was treated for a broken nose.
