BOSTON (WHDH) - The woman seriously injured by a broken bat at Fenway Park is thanking everyone for their support one year after the accident.

Tonya Carpenter was wheeled out of Fenway on a stretcher last year after getting hit in the head by the bat. She underwent surgery and spent weeks fighting for her life.

“I wanted to thank you again for your kindness, love, support and well wishes. My life may forever have its daily reminders of my injury but, I find ways to get thru the pain as best that I can,” Carpenter said.
