BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Family and friends came together Wednesday to remember one of the victims of the stabbing spree in Taunton.

Patricia Slavin’s funeral was held at Holy Family Church, where she was a devoted parishioner. The mother of six was remembered as someone with a deep faith and sense of humor.

“Our mother was an angel on earth and now she’s an angel in heaven,” her son Fred Slavin said at the funeral.

Police said 28-year-old Arthur Darosa killed Slavin after randomly walking into her home last Tuesday and stabbing her and her daughter. Slavin’s daughter Kathleen was seriously injured but is expected to be OK. She attended her mother’s funeral Wednesday.

After attacking Slavin and her daughter, police said Darosa then assaulted four people and stabbed a man to death at the Silver City Galleria Mall. The rampage ended when an off-duty sheriff’s deputy shot and killed him.
