LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson is making a campaign stop in Lewiston, Maine, next week.
Johnson and his running mate, Bill Weld, will hold a rally at the Franco American Heritage Center on Aug. 26. Tickets are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis at Eventbrite. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.
The former Republican governors of New Mexico and Massachusetts, respectively, are up against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The race also includes Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap recently announced that enough residents are enrolled as Libertarians to give the party official status in the state.
