QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - A Lowell man accused in an alarming assault appeared in court on Friday.
According to prosecutors, he violently raped a woman after she left an MBTA station in Quincy in April.
Prosecutors said Sean Soares, 29, met the woman on Marathon Monday in April on the MBTA train at Wollaston Station.
He then allegedly followed her into a neighborhood, grabbed her and dragged her into a yard.
The District Attorney said a neighbor interrupted the attack when he heard screams.
The victim then ran away, but Soares allegedly chased her down and raped her in a paved area behind another home for over an hour.
Prosecutors said Soares video taped about four minutes of the assault.
According to court paperwork, Suarez eventually let the victim go, telling her “You seem like a nice person.”
A grand jury indicted him on 13 counts.
He pleaded not guilty.
Bail was set at $100,000.
