NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) – A man charged with fatally shooting his 19-year-old daughter, more than a decade after he tried to kill her mother, is scheduled to be arraigned in Massachusetts.

Forty-five-year-old Walter DaSilva has been transported by police from Connecticut to Massachusetts, where he will appear Wednesday in New Bedford District Court.

His daughter, Sabrina DaSilva, was shot July 3 outside her home in New Bedford.

Walter DaSilva was arrested in early August in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He initially was charged with being a fugitive and violating probation in connection with his conviction for trying to murder the teen’s mother in 2002.

He’s now charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
