BELMONT, MASS. (WHDH) - A moose is on the loose after residents spotted it running through Belmont and Watertown Wednesday morning.
It was first spotted running around the West End of Watertown Wednesday morning. The moose was seen again on Bartlett Avenue in Belmont just before 7 a.m.
Police said the moose was last seen in the upper Concord area. They believe it may have gone out to the woods behind the golf course.
One animal control officer says the moose’s appearance was likely the result of increased development outside of the city.
Animal Control and the Environmental Police are now on the lookout for the animal.
