LACONIA, N.H. (AP) — Police in Laconia, New Hampshire, say they’ve arrested a man on kidnapping and armed robbery charges who they said was seen dragging a woman by her hair into an SUV in Laconia, New Hampshire.

Police said the incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses said the woman was screaming. The vehicle then left at a high rate of speed.

Officers later found the woman and talked to her. They found the SUV in Concord with no one inside. They found and arrested 32-year-old James Lemmond in Concord on Tuesday. He was jailed and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Belknap County. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
