BOXFORD, MA (WHDH) — A crash on I-95 in Boxford on Saturday afternoon left one person dead.

Police responded to a crash in the area of Exit 53 just before 6 p.m. According to police, a 2002 Saturn SL2 was in the breakdown lane when it was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala.

The driver of the Saturn, a 45-year-old man from Newburyport, was transported to Anna Jacques Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Chevrolet Impala was identified as Nathaniel Armstrong, 22 of Amesbury. Armstrong was charged with motor vehicle homicide/OUI and speeding. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on Monday.

Armstrong and a passenger, also a 22-year-old man from Amesbury, were uninjured in the crash.
