A New Hampshire man has been arrested after a police officer found him asleep behind the wheel of a car that was shifted into drive.
On Sept. 4 just after 2 a.m., Hooksett Police officers saw a car parked beside a gas pump at a closed gas station.
A police officer approached the car and noticed a man sitting in the driver’s seating, apparently sleeping.
The officer noticed the car was turned on, shifted in drive and the man had his foot on the brake.
Police said it took the officer approximately six minutes to wake the man. He was able to shift the car into park and take the keys out of the ignition.
While the officer was talking to the man, the man acted as if he was driving away while the car was turned off.
The officer noticed the man had spilled an alcoholic beverage all over himself and it was apparent he was under the influence of alcohol, police said.
The man was identified as Brendan Wills, 20 of Concord, New Hampshire. He was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
He is due in court on Sept. 13.
